Aha, it is now summer time! The clocks changed yesterday, but that's what mummy says, they look just the same to me. Mummy says that the winter has now officially ended, but no one has told the snow that it should not be here - it is cold. I went sledging on Saturday - that was fun and I laughed hahaha! Oh yes, we went on a train too - I still like trains a lot. Yesterday we all went to Avenches: Daddy, Mummy, Alison and me, to see the Fasnacht bands. They were great with so much noise and colourful clothes: one group were dressed as big birds which was funny. I wish that I had had my plastic trumpet and drum with us and we could have had our own band. I have a cough, mummy has a worse one, but won't go to the doctors - which is naughty of her dad says. We want her to be well, poor mummy. I love mummy a lot, and continually tell her 'I like you' and she chuckles and says that I am sweet. Daddy is at home and it is excellent: he has read a lot to me; tickled me; danced and played trains, but best of all he gave me lots of cuddles and yesterday we watched Mary Poppins again together in front of a lovely warm open fire. Alison is going home to her parents and to study after more than four years in Europe. I will miss her. She is funny and makes me laugh and when we play trains she talks in lots of different voices and so do I. Alison likes to watch movies and do sport - a bit, and drink wine and laugh and eat Thai curry - a lot. Must go and do important things now, bye!

Rosalie is definitely my best friend. She takes my shoes off and puts my slippers on for me at the garderie. I haven't told her I can do it myself. These new Bob the Builder wellies are especially easy to get on and off.

We bake great cakes in the toy kitchen and play trains. She is 5. I really like older women and they seem to like me.

Mum took me to the bouncy castle place and it was really full up as children don't go to school on wednesday afternoons in Payerne, mum says. So there was a lot of bouncing into eachother and minor crashes at the bottom of the blow up slides. Also had to hold onto my go cart instead of swapping over as I usually do.

My main aim on the circuit is to crash into as many other go carts as possible but it's ok because they have big rubber bumpers all round them so noone gets hurt. It is very noisy at the bouncy castle and noone walks - all the children run everywhere.

The lady who runs the mickey mouse/batman ride likes me a lot and always gives me a tickle. When noone is looking she lets me go on for free. All I have to do is smile and look cute, a stretegy I am using for many tricky situations.

It snowed this morning and mummy let me go out and stomp around a bit in my wellies. I put deep footprints all over the lawn. But the snow was gone by the time I left the garderie, which was disappointing. I kept asking mummy "Where's it gone" but didn't believe her explanation about melting. I'm sure someone came and took it all away.

Before I went to bed this evening I had an energetic half hour with lots of creative dancing on the trampoline. Mummy and Alison were so impressed that Alison said mummy should film it. I waved my arms like a windmill and jumped up and down while pirouetting. So by the time we got to bed and the teddy bear books I was pretty whacked and fell into a deep sleep with a tiny little snore and occasional grunting.

Mummy wasn't in when I came downstairs this morning, but she had left a note. Alison said the note instructed her to give me a kiss on mummy's behalf. She gave me a kiss and I was happy. "Oh great, I said". Then I had a closer look at the piece of paper. "Is mummy in the paper?" I enquired. For some reason Alison laughed. I realised, however, that mummy could not be in the paper.

Monday 29th January 2007

Wow a new year already. So much has happened since I last wrote. Spent Christmas with nanny in England and got lots of presents. Shortly before leaving for England we met father Christmas in the mountains above Montreux and he gave me a certificate to say I had been a good boy, which was not strictly true. Mum made a film about it.

Had my birthday on 8th January and got lots more presents including a nice bike from mummy and daddy which I drive very fast indeed. Mummy can't catch up with me.

Had a birthday party at the Gymboree in Bern. Some people from the Saturday gym came (Tess and Janosch), plus Merle and Lelia and Max and Lilly. They liked the parachute and train games and I got lots more presents. Mum had to buy a new shelf unit for my bedroom to put them all on. I have lots of memory games now but my memory hasn't got much better.

Last night my toys fell out of my wheelburrow so I said Bugger, which I'd heard mummy saying once. When she asked me to repeat what I had just said, I repeated "Bugger" and she loooked at daddy in a funny way. It seems to be a pretty important word so I'll hold on to that one.

Last week we went skiing in Rosswald. We stayed in Gillian's house and she had a lovely jacuzzi bubble bath which sucked my toys under water. I liked that a lot. We went sledging a lot and I played with the girls next door, Jenny and Joy. Mum and dad took me skiing a few times but I kept falling over and getting wet and cold and that wasn't so fantastic.

At the end of the holiday mummy went to buy me my own ski gear so we wouldn't have to rent it. I told her "No Thank you" but she still bought it.

Yesterday we went to the thermal baths at Yverdon and had vegetable soup in the cafe for lunch, then went to the zoo at Servion and saw the same lemurs they had in the film 'madagascar'. It was very cold so the monkeys stayed indoors and looked through the windows at us. They were wondering why daddy was outside the cage.

Back to the garderie today. Hopefully my best friend Roselie will be there. Next weekend we are going skiing again in a place near Rosswald in the Valais. Hope they don't take me skiing again but I've a feeling they will as they bought all that gear for me. Bugger!

Asked whether I wanted to go to the garderie and play with Mel and Rosalie, I told mummy in no uncertain terms that I didn't want to go to playschool but was going to stay at home instead and watch TV all night!
