Happy New year everybody. We had a fab Christmas. I chose all my presents at Jumbo, mummy gave them to Father Christmas and he delivered them on 24th December. I don't know why mum had to make it all so complicated. I would have cut out the middle man but then Father Christmas would not have got his cookie and milk, waiting near the fire place, and he certainly gobbled that up! So when I opened my presents I was obliged to utter, each time, "Oh Great, it's what I've always wanted", and mum and dad seemed to like this a lot.
Nanny gave me a lovely caravan with lots of people in it. They have bikes and picnic tables and plates and knives and forks. Unfortunately they all got eaten by my new dinasaur, with red glowing eyes and snappy teeth, who also chased the cats next door. I got a work bench and a multi story car park. Elina gave me a great lego truck. Uncle Michele gave me a crocodile for the bath, who squirts water and attacks fellow bathers. Well, mostly mummy. The other day he grabbed her round the neck but she managed to escape.
We went to the circus on Boxing Day but it was a bit rubbish because the dog didn't do any tricks when it was supposed to, the juggler dropped his juggly wotsits and the magic tricks man was creepy. After half time I got bored and started running around and getting told off a lot.
We also went to the zoo in Bern and I liked the seals and nemo fish best of all.
On Friday before Christmas we went skiing in Villars and I really started to get the hang of it. I held mum's ski pole and whizzed down the slope. She didn't want me to go on the off piste stuff but I don't kn0w why - it's white and snowy and it all looks the same to me.
Went skiing again with Lori and Alexander and Elisa in Saint Cergue near Nyon. Alexander fell off the lift but didn't let go so got dragged up the slope on his face. When he finally did let go, he and Lori had to do some off piste skiing in the forest before getting back down to the main ski area. So Elisa and mummy spent about an hour looking for them and finally gave up and came to play with me and daddy. I like Lori a lot. She is very kind to me and smiles a lot and says funny things. Alexander is also kind and like a big brother. I wish he was my brother.
Later we went to Villars skiing again - but this time there were too many people around and we had to queue a lot. I went up on the button lift all on my own twice and got better at skiing but did fall over while mummy was trying to hold me between her legs so that at one point my skiis were pointing a different way to hers! That hurt a bit and mummy was worn out.
Something funny happened when we arrived in Villars. Mummy dropped us off near the station and we went for a croissant and a hot chocolate while she parked. As she parked so far away she decided to bring all our skiing stuff up on her own, so put on two jackets, two masks and carried lots of skis and poles up the hill. When she came in the cafe daddy didn't recognise her. He thought she was some kind of weirdo who had lots of new ski gear but did not know how to ski. But then he realised the weirdo was wearing his ski jacket and his ski hat and - worst of all - coming towards him! He wa strying to phone mummy to find out where she was, and looked straight at this strange person with the phone to his ear, without recognising her at all. A woman she passed on the way said "Monsieur, ou est la gare?" so daddy was not the only one confused about her identity!
We stayed at Lori's on New Year's Eve, and Lori fell asleep on Alexander's bed while reading him a story and did not go downstairs again. I couldn't get to sleep for ages but finally curled up on mum and dad's bed in the nice loft conversion they have. I tossed and turned all night and daddy was very tired the next day. Mummy let him sleep until about 10am and found him lying there asleep and snoring with a kitten called hallowe'en and a big ginger cat called Pumpkin nestled in next to him.
We went sledging at Saint Cergue and mummy and Lori recorded a new year's video message for Aunties Carla and Marion. Then we went on these fab tires. You sit in the middle of them. I went mostly with daddy and mum filmed it. Lori went with Xani. So the tires get hooked to a ski lift and dragged up the slope, then there is a kind of toboggan run where you slide down. It is great fun. Me and dad were the fastest.
Aunty Vanessa came to see us the other day and played with me a lot. We drew pictures in the bath with my new ash off colouring pencils from aunty Marion. Vanessa gave me some teddy bear socks, which i wear all the time. One teddy bear fell off but mummy sewed it back on again. Now I know what "sew, a needle pulling thread" means from my favorite song 'Doe a deer'. from my favourite movie 'The Sound of Music'. Uncle Michele came on Friday night and also played with me a lot and read me a story. I like them a lot.
We have been swimming several times. Mummy got me some flippers and a mask and I can swim very fast now - even quicker than a fast fish! Today we went to the thermal baths in Yverdon but it was very busy. I still managed to beat mum many times in various swimming competitions. She says she lets me win but she's just a bad loser. My New Year's resolution is to eat more crisps.
